Pricing & Cost Expectations

What your remodel will cost depends on choices you control

We don't publish figures, because a number given before seeing your home is a guess — and guesses are how homeowners get burned. What we will do is explain every driver honestly.

What adds to the investment

  • Moving plumbing

Relocating the toilet, tub, or sink means opening floors and walls and rerouting supply and drain lines. The single biggest cost driver in a bathroom.

  • Tile size and pattern

Small mosaics, large-format tile, herringbone and diagonal lays all add skilled hours — the expensive kind of hours.

  • Custom cabinetry

Built for your actual walls instead of standard sizes. Worth it in odd-sized and older rooms; priced like the craft it is.

  • Older homes

Plaster walls, cast iron tubs, galvanized plumbing, and the occasional surprise rot behind the wall. Honest budgets leave room for what demo reveals.

What streamlines the investment

  • Keeping the existing layout

Fixtures stay where the plumbing already is. The single best way to keep a remodel reasonable.

  • Stock fixtures and vanities

Well-chosen stock pieces deliver most of the transformation at a fraction of custom cost.

  • Standard tile, standard patterns

The room still transforms; the labor stays predictable.

  • Decisions made before demo

Every selection locked in before the job starts is a rush charge and a delay that never happens.

A plain word about tight budgets

If your budget has no cushion at all, this may not be the right season for a full remodel — and we'd rather say that here than mid-job. Remodels in older homes especially can surprise you, and a budget with no room for surprises turns a manageable finding into a crisis. A well-done partial refresh now, done within your means, beats a stretched remodel every time. Sometimes the right hire is even a handyman, not us.
